Ride to Gettysburg  Plans are forming for a bike trip in late August to the battlefield in Gettysburg, PA. Departure would be on Friday morning, with a return Sunday afternoon. The route is roughly 287 miles and we will take state routes only (no freeway or turnpike).Saturday, we will tour the battlefield on the bikes and I give you a personal narrative from the opening shots, to the culmination of "Pickett's Charge" at the crest of Cemetary Hill. Accommodations will be in town with a group rate. A number of living historians from Ohio and Pennsylvania are going to participate with us so you will be in the company of people who can really show you the hidden side of the battle.
